Lwala Community Alliance (LCA) is an organization in Kenya that was founded in 2007 by two native Kenyan siblings who are also doctors; Milton and Fred. The community where these doctors came from, suffered a dual burden of high maternal mortality and high HIV prevalence. After losing both of their parents, they fulfilled their Father's dream fof bringing health to their community. With great support from the community itself through donations of land and other resources, they began building their first health clinic.
Now with the community-led health model that they implement, they launch their health initiatives by focusing on water, sanitation, & hygiene, HIV, reproductive health, and nutrition. They also train community members to participate in the governance committees of public health centers and equip them to hold the health system accountable (Lwala Annual Report, 2018)

Project Overview
Deliverables of the Program Evaluation plan
This project was a final project in the Essential Skills in Global Health course taught by Professor Carolyn Audet, PhD, MSc, and Professor Muktar Aliyu, MD, DrPH, MPH. in which the students had the chance to do some consultation with Lwala officer in Kenya to evaluate the intended program.
1) Build a protocol of program evaluation after conducting a needs assessment of Lwala through consultation with Lwala officer in Kenya.

2) Develop assessment objectives, surveys, qualitative interviews, other clinical/economic data collection needs, and IRB applications if needed.

3) Summarizing literature reviews about nutrition that is embedded in the protocol.

4) Clearly defined malnutrition criteria to measures the effectiveness of these nutrition initiatives from Lwala in Migori county.

5) Develop stakeholder's analysis and the program's logic model.

My roles in this project were to build the qualitative tools in evaluating the evaluation from Migori county people through Interviews and Focus groups, develop the analysis of the stakeholder and program's logic model as well as the consent form for participants as well as contacting the field program officers in Migory County Kenya as we clarified the information needed for building these deliverables.
