Project 9: Protocol in Researching for Career Outcomes of Alumni of School of Medicine Vanderbilt University - Summer Internship at BRET Office

Challenges, Opportunities, and strengths in doing my roles and responsibilities
My main roles were:
- Researching Career Outcomes of Ph.D. alumni. - Maintaining data management systems.
- Creating graphics from the research.

In doing these roles, I learned that research skills and management were crucial in helping me complete the projects given. As this is a team project, collaboration among team members was significant as well. One of the real challenges in this proses of research was to find an effective, efficient, and reliable ways to have recent updates of employment from the alumni. Daily updates and communication and networking with schools and employers were some of the keys to addressing this challenge. This approach also helped us in the process to not only monitor the progress but also to hold everyone accountable in fulfilling their role in this project. With the connectedness and adaptability of each member in the team doing the roles, some challenges were managed to be solved.
Learning Agility; Research Outcomes Team
I worked closely with Dr. Abby Brown (Manager of Research Outcomes office in BRET) and Dr. Janani Varadarajan. We worked on several projects related to the career outcomes of the Ph.D. alumni and course evaluation. These projects involved collecting data, inputting the to the database, presenting them into graphs/Charts and analyzing the results. The final results were then presented in a conference of research Education Center Conference in Seattle.
