Develop Program Evaluation Plans for Gideons Army as well as providing tools to evaluate them under the guidance of Prof. Sarah Suiter in Program Evaluation Course Fall 2018
Overview of the Project
Through in-class seminars, and in-class weekly collaboration in the Fall semester 2018 with Ms. Fetuga, along with the guidance from Prof. Suiter, the team managed to collect data and information, clarify information, and build the tools in evaluating the program evaluation plan. At the end after the plan was completed, the team had the chance to present it to Gideon's Army and Ms. Fetuga.
Process of creating this project
Learning Agility of the project
My individual contribution to this project is by building the stakeholder analysis part and the tools' protocols in evaluating the programs (the interview and focus group). The challenges were related to how to think of an efficient way to conduct these interviews and focus groups in the context of the Gideon's Army that under staffing at that moment. With the help from Ms. Fetuga and Prof. Suiter, we managed to plan how the qualitative analysis of this plan to be conducted later. We planned to do several baseline survey in the beginning of the academic year for all programs evaluated and interviews/focus group in the middle the year then followed by end-of-year survey. This project not only helped me to hone my research skills but it also helped me to be more adaptive and strategic in planning the evaluations.
My Roles
ReflectivePractice and Self-awareness
This was the first consulting project that I had. It was such a great experience to not only learn about the organization that advocated for education in low-income neighborhood but also hone the skills of consulting. This project helped me to realize that education consulting with nonprofit organization is something that I can do upon my graduation from The IEPM program at Vanderbilt.
